Job Requirements of Broadcast Engineer:
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in radio station or network engineering.
- Graduation from a two-year degree program with technical emphasis or equivalent experience
- SBE or Engineering certification desired
- Radio Control rooms, transmitter sites, HVAC and other building support areas.
- Adequate hearing in both ears and vision (with color discernment) commensurate with job functions required.
- Work schedule will consist of weekends and holidays.
- Regular and consistent attendance required; weekend, overnight and holiday shifts required.
- Rotating “on-call” status requiring availability both via cell phone and physical access to the network within one-hour.
- Occasional outside maintenance activities in all weather. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Broadcast Engineer
Cumulus Media | Westwood One - Culver City, CA is searching for a Broadcast Engineer. The Engineer assists the Westwood One Network as well as Cumulus Radio Station groups with the installation, maintenance/repair of studio equipment, transmitting and ancillary equipment in order to maintain competitive signals in the market while complying with all FCC technical requirements. Includes: assisting with telecommunications, computer and networking systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follows routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all broadcast equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of technical anomalies as they occur.
- Oversees and assists with the installation and maintenance of control consoles, audio routers, recording equipment, microphones, digital audio systems including TDM and AOIP, satellite encoders and receivers, control systems, IT and networking systems, remote equipment, etc.
- Ensure reliable delivery of programming through proactive engineering to ensure redundancy and proper failover procedures where appropriate.
- Response to technical support request of facility stakeholders.
- Technical Support of Cumulus Radio Station engineering working in a cooperative blended engineering department between both network and station initiatives.
- Regular reporting of department status via email to management.
- Establish, update and implement department procedural documentation.
- Manage and participate in 24/7 On Call Engineer Rotation with remote access capability.
