Job Description
CUMULUS MEDIA | Atlanta, GA has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst at the Corporate Office. The Senior Financial Analyst position offers the opportunity to work in a challenging and engaging environment with high visibility among executive leadership and provides cross-functional support and solutions to the Company’s sales, operations, and various support functions. Additionally, the position offers the opportunity to get exposure to M&A and capital markets transactions for a public company with more than $1 billion in enterprise value.
The Financial Analyst position will be part of a small team that plays a critical role in developing and supporting the achievement of financial and operational objectives across our 400+ stations in 87 markets and our Westwood One radio network by providing relevant, timely, and actionable analysis and insights to management and senior executives. The person will also be involved in corporate and strategic initiatives. This position will provide primary financial support to Cumulus’ growing digital businesses. The role will play an integral part in guiding the future performance of the business and will enjoy ample opportunities to own independent work streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop insights and actionable intelligence to better drive operational and financial performance
- Apply critical thought and analytical rigor to business problems and development of proposed solutions
- Create and operationalize key business metrics
- Assist digital business leaders in the development and tracking of critical key performance indicators
- Support business owners with ad hoc analysis of historical data to drive sales strategies, operational improvements, and organizational focus
- Assist in annual budget process and development of budgeting and long-term models
- Maintain ownership of company forecasts and have visibility into financial reporting
- Prepare materials to support Board of Directors meetings and conference calls
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- BS / BA degree required
- 2-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or similar function
- Previous exposure to digital advertising and operations desirable
- Excellent organizational skills and a superb attention to detail
- High standards of excellence and pride in work
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze and visualize large quantities of data and identify critical trends
- Problem-solving ability and strong, rigorous analytical skills for finding solutions to complex problems and identifying stories and trends from data
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to drive change and collaborate at all levels in an organization
- Advanced quantitative analysis, modeling and Excel skills
- Proven and demonstrable ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Honesty, integrity, maturity, confidentiality, and the ability to exercise discretion in this position are critical
