CUMULUS MEDIA | Kansas City has an immediate opening for a full time National and Political Sales and Administrative Assistant for our 7 station KC Cluster plus Topeka, KS market.  This experienced administrative support person is an integral part of our radio and digital/integrated marketing sales teams.  The Market Manager, Sales Managers, and the local sales team are supported by an administrative team of four people.  The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking and have the ability to balance multiple deadline-oriented projects while maintaining a great attitude and sense of humor in a fast-paced work environment. CUMULUS MEDIA | KANSAS CITY, KS features 7 stations in the Overland Park, KS market and surrounding counties.  Our stations include:  101 The Fox – KCFX, KCMO FM, KCMO-AM, KCHZ – The Vibe, KCJK – The X, KMJK and Jack-FM.  Our digital solutions include: full-service offerings from website development, Google Ads, targeted display and social and much more.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages a high volume of work with efficiency. Known as the person who creates and follows best-in-class systems and never lets details slip through the cracks.
  • Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Plans backwards to make deadlines. The ultimate anticipator.
  • Extensive computer skills including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, image manipulation, social media and ability to learn and master proprietary systems
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful consistently overcomes challenges and leverage resources to collaborate and creatively solve challenges.
  • Proposes solutions to issues without much guidance. Proactively asks for help when needed, anticipates problems, and course-corrects where needed.
  • Enters all national orders in WideOrbit and all national continuity/traffic including CEDIS and  vCreative.
  • Input new and revised digital and radio orders and provide exceptional customer care to support revenue growth
  • Keep sales and promotional materials up to date and completed on time. Prepare and assemble client proposal materials for sales team as needed
  • Provide support to sales teams by communicating with clients and providing documents, forms, and other paperwork to ensure seamless execution of client media buys
  • Provide first-class customer service interacting directly with local, regional, and national clients 
  • Assist Sales Managers in generating sales and presentation materials
  • Provide support to clients as needed to ensure seamless execution of client media buys.
  • Works on highly time sensitive projects, adhering to deadlines.
  • Manage multiple project requests simultaneously with strong communication and prioritization skills to facilitate accuracy and rapid turnaround time
  • Additional duties as designated by the General Sales Manager, Market Manager or Business Manager related to sales or administrative functions.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of experience in administrative support: sales, marketing, advertising and/or promotions
  • Extensive computer skills, including but not limited to, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, image manipulation, and the ability to adapt to proprietary software systems
  • Self-starter who is detail oriented, organized, with excellent written, grammatical, and oral communication and possess strong multitasking skills
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and possess a team-first attitude
  • Aptitude to make decisions and work independently without immediate direction or supervision
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels
