CUMULUS MEDIA | Wilkes-Barre, PA is searching for a multi-talented person to work across all our brands. They will be responsible for producing and branding our country station NASH-FM, on air middays on our AC station HOT971, and handling Social Media production for all our stations. Energy, enthusiasm, and experience within the country and CHR genre is a must.  The ideal candidate will live and breathe all things social media.  They will be responsible for imaging, station localization, developing and executing revenue generating sales & programming promotions, executing social media ads, posts, managing, creating, and scheduling content.  They must be a superb communicator, creative self-starter, and an innovative thinker. The position also requires a daily air-shift, along with a weekend voice track shift and/or live appearances and live remotes!

Who We Are: 

CUMULUS | Wilkes-Barre, PA is a four (4) station cluster in Northeast Pennsylvania. WMGS-FM MAGIC 93, WBSX-FM 97.9X, WBHT-FM/WBHD-FM 97.1/95.7BHT, WSJR-FM NASH93.7. These four (4) stations are diverse formats that include Adult Contemporary, Alternative Rock, Top 40, Country.

We’re looking for a track record of success.  Top candidates will be versatile and possess exceptional On-Air and web/social media skills.  Digital and social strategies must be as engaging as on-air tactics and execution.  The best candidates will be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and react in a calm and decisive way when dealing with challenging situations.  Excellent writing and production skills to image and brand your stations are essential.  People skills and the ability to work closely with talent, department heads and a talented sales team are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, and manage the image, brand, and standards of WSJR-FM through all distribution channels to reach and exceed goals for ratings, revenue, and profitability
  • Deliver unique content that attracts the target demo, builds ratings, and grows terrestrial and digital audience.
  • Weekday midday on air shift on WBHT-FM
  • Work closely with Sales and Promotions to develop contests, promotions, and big events to raise brand profile and generate revenue.
  • Ensure operation of station in accordance with FCC regulations and policies
  • Operate (as needed) control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment as well as music scheduling software
  • Develop and execute social campaigns for paid and organic media on all social networks
  • Work closely with all departments and clients to translate marketing goals and media objectives into impactful campaigns on social networks
  • Provide social advertising support and execute ads based on client objectives
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media programs, analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results
  • Manage presence, strategy and tactical execution for social networking sites including Facebook, Facebook Live, Twitter, Google+, Snapchat and other similar platforms
  • Establish new social channels as warranted and build online events/campaigns that foster excitement and increase response rates.
  • Advocate the value of social media and help educate clients, partners and internal teams on the latest developments and capabilities in this fast-growing media channel
  • Apply social media knowledge and creativity to brainstorming and strategy sessions
  • Provide direction as needed for improving campaign performance through optimization and/or implementing new features and strategies
  • Stay abreast of social platform updates, social trends, and best-in-class social media campaigns

  • Minimum 3 years of successful programming and social media experience preferred
  • Savvy computer skills and proficiency with ratings, research, and music (Stratus) programs
  • Ability to multi-task and the discipline to focus on what is the highest and best use of your time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with air staff, departments, and clients
  • Creative and strategic problem solver
  • A strong understanding of Nielsen Ratings and ability to interpret various kinds of research
  • Deep knowledge of music, pop culture and current events and how they relate to the station’s target demo
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of best practices for managing and optimizing social media channels
  • Experience with Photoshop, Video and Photo production preferred
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Able to write concisely and present ideas confidently
  • An insatiable curiosity for all things social, digital, and mobile
  • Strong project management or organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Collaborative approach/attitude
  • Proven ability to execute programs that increase positive interaction and build audience
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop reporting and communications metrics that drive success and show results.
  • Excellent copywriting and communications skills with some experience with photography and video preferred. Familiarity with Photoshop a plus.
